A new law on the vehicles brought from foreign countries for personal use was passed in October by the Turkish Parliament. According to the Official Gazette, the purpose of the law is to extend the period of stay of the foreigners' cars in the Customs Area of Turkey. The period has doubled and become one year.
It is worth reminding that during the visit to Germany on May 3 the Turkish Prime Minister announced the decision to prolong the period of stay of the foreigners' cars in Turkey for two years. The law's period doesn't match announcement made by Ahmed Davutoghlu but matches the European standards. In August this year, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission prolonged the period of temporary import of transport means to 24 months.
