Alanya took part in the International tourism exhibition in Lithuania

The representatives of the Turkish tourism industry actively participate in all international tourism events to attract more tourists to Alanya. So, from the 22nd till 24th of January, the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) presented its stand at the ADVENTUR 2016 exhibition. This is the international tourism exhibition which was held in Vilnius (Lithuania) for the fourth time.

The visitors of the Turkish stand under the "Alanya" brand were presented the offers of the business and excursion tourism, active holidays programmes and special offers of the tour operators. Alanya stand aroused great interest of the locals.

Among 200 participants of the exhibition were the tourism representatives of the following countries: Estonia, Belarus, Georgia, Finland, Norway, Italy, Poland, UAE, Tunisia, Thailand, Seychelles, and others.

Turkish Airlines became the "Best European airline" in 2015

The Turkish Airlines received the annual World Airline Awards presented by the British Skytrax agency. The air carrier from Turkey received this award for already the fifth time in a row.

The company became the best in Europe according to the results of the rating. The rating was made by the 20 million passengers from 160 countries. In addition, the company is proud to be on the fourth place in the "best world airlines" rating.

The increase of the passenger traffic by 11.8 percent and cargo by 8.7 percent, 23 new flight destinations and 38 new planes - all these are the goals of the company in 2015.

The improvement of these indicators as well as the improvement of the service quality are the main points for 2016.

The Turkish universities are ones of the best small universities in the world

The world rating of the best small universities for 2016-17 academic year was announced at the end of January. The British Times Higher Education magazine presented Top-20.

And two Turkish private universities located in Istanbul along with European and American universities are mentioned in this list. One more bonus is that these universities are among the ten best. So, the eighth place was given to the Koch University and the tenth - to the Sabanci University.

Only higher schools where not more than 5 000 students are studying and four and more disciplines are taught took part in this rating. Both universities are popular with students from Turkey and foreigner students, especially with those who have property in Turkey. Teaching is in English. And before going to the university, students can attend special language courses.

In 2016 new flight routes from Baku to Alanya and Antalya will be launched

In 2016 the Azerbaijan Airlines will launch new flights to the Turkish resorts. Antalya and Alanya are among these resorts. The flight timetable has already been made and the ticket prices have also been announced. So, the tickets to both resorts will cost from 139 euros.

The direct flight from Baku to Antalya will be daily in high season (from May 21 till September 27). And in low season there will be only one flight per week. It will be Saturday. A new airport in Gazipasa (Alanya) will also meet tourists from Azerbaijan. The flight from Baku to Alanya will be launched on July 4. There will be 3 flights per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

The flying time will be about two hours which you will spend on board of comfortable airliners Airbus A319/320 and Boeing 7577.

The Turkish scientists developed new construction material

The scientist from the Turkish Afyon Kocatepe University (AKU) managed to produce modern construction material which can be successfully used in concrete blocks.

The material consists of coal ash, marble dust, organic foaming agent and some chemicals. This mixture added into a concrete block will make it more water and shock-proof, cold-resistant and lighter.

It is planned to use such concrete blocks in construction of buildings in seismic zones and in construction of small vessels.
