Alanya hosted the 12th International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium
This year Alanya hosted the International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium for the twelfth time. The artists from Turkey, Russia, Serbia, Poland, the Czech Republic and the UK participated in the symposium. The theme of this year meeting was "The History of the Seljuks and Antalya". The works of the sculptors were made of marble blocks.
The Alanya municipality and the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts took part in the organization of the event. At the closing ceremony the rector of the University thanked the organizers for the high-level work. He also noted the high quality of the sculptures and expressed the hope that good relations between the participating countries will continue in the future.
From Turkey to China in 14 days
The trip from Turkey to China will take about two weeks. However, it is cheaper and faster than cruising. And that was the reason to revive the Great Silk Road.
Five countries took part in building the Silk Railway from China to Turkey. Those countries are China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan. China invested 40 billion dollars in this tremendous project. Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia built the parts of the road on their territories. The Turkish road includes the undersea tunnel Marmarai which lays under the Bosphorus and connects the European and Asian parts of Istanbul.
The first train from China to Tbilisi departed on December 13 and the regular railway connection will be started in 2016.
The growth rates of the housing estate prices in Turkey are the highest in the world
At the end of the third quarter the consulting company Knight Frank, which has an international status, made a research on the international real estate market.
One section of the research traditionally deals with property price dynamics. This year Turkey is a leader in the growth rates of property prices in the third quarter (5,1%), in a half-year period (+10,5%) and during the whole year (+18,9%). The results are based on the index of price dynamics.
The prices of properties in Alanya, Istanbul and other Turkish cities have been increasing for already several years. This fact attracts foreigners to buy housing estates in Turkey.
Alanya is expanding the range of touristic services
The municipality of Alanya works on developing the city. It improves the environment, the quality of services and opens new touristic destinations. And this year at the end of November, a new project on developing Alanya as a winter resort was launched.
The Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, the president of Alanya Tour Operators Association (ALTID), the board member of the Hoteliers Federation and General Director of Anadolujet Airline signed two agreements which regulate two programs of the city development.
The first program “Alanya as a preferable destination” is been held during December and it will be replaced by the second program “Winter holidays package”. This program will last till May 31, 2016. It is expected that this project will have a great impact on the development of Alanya region.
Manavgat waterfalls (Antalya) will be renewed
Manavgat waterfalls are temporarily closed for the visitors. The province municipality decided to revive this popular touristic spot. The renovation works are planned to be finished by summer 2016 when the waterfalls will be available for the tourists. It was said that about four million tourists would be able to visit this place.
The demolition works have been already started. It is planned to build a comfortable entrance complex, an observation deck, a playground, a restaurant and some shopping spots. The organizers of the project noted that the most important was to preserve the environment of this spot.
