The first Russian aircraft landed in the international airport of Gazipasa with delegation from Russia on board led by the Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for talks with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Çavuşoğlu.
The VIP guests at the airport were welcomed by the Governor of Alanya Hasan Tanrıseven, after the ministers of the two states and other officials went to the hotel «Rubi Platinum», where on December 1 the fifth session of the Joint Group of Strategic Development was held.
The main issues of the talks were normalization of relations between the two countries, the fight against international terrorism and the lifting of economic sanctions against Turkey. All participants were satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.
“We had very effective talks on a wide range of issues, special attention was paid to acute international issues ... We talked about our bilateral relations in more details. Acknowledged the mutual interest in their progressive normalization with satisfaction, in accordance with the agreements of the presidents of Russia and Turkey”, Lavrov said.
Sergey Lavrov also visited the historical castle of Alanya, has communicated with the city administration and received a picture from the mayor of Alanya Adem Murat Yücel as a friendly gift.
On the way back to the airport the motorcade was escorted by residents of Alanya with Turkish and Russian flags.
